  10. After graduating from high school in 1983, 
  11. Donna went to art school. When the school 
  12. closed, she decided to ski more seriously. 
  13. She moved to Vermont and got a job as a 
  14. waitress. Donna practiced skiing as often
  15. as she could.

  17. In 1986, Donna placed 16th at the national 
  18. championships. The next year, she 
  19. placed fourth and made the U.S. team.
